Starpath Robotics is pioneering in-situ resource utilization by developing autonomous robotic systems designed to extract water ice from the Moon's surface and convert it into rocket propellant. Their comprehensive approach includes a fleet of mining rovers, a refinery, and a vertically deployable solar array, collectively capable of producing enough liquid oxygen to refuel up to 10 Starship-class vehicles annually. This innovation aims to reduce launch costs, increase mission frequency, and enable the reuse of lunar landers, thereby facilitating a sustainable human presence on the Moon and Mars. In August 2024, Starpath secured $12 million in seed funding led by 8VC and Fusion Fund, underscoring the strategic importance of their mission to transform extraterrestrial resource utilization.
