With this source-independent Quantum Key Distribution protocol, an attacker gains nothing by compromising the source. Built on the fundamental laws of physics from the ground up: the system generates entangled photons in a superposition state, distributes them over fiber-optic infrastructure with no restrictive assumptions on the quantum channel, and completes the process with the measurement of the individual photons”
