About Antora Thermal Battery

Modular thermal energy storage system that resistively heats insulated blocks of solid carbon with low-cost electricity to temperatures up to 2,400°C and discharges the energy for days as process heat or, via steam turbines, as power. All units are built at Antora's San Jose gigafactory; more than 200 were deployed at the 5 GWh Project Big Stone, commissioned in May 2026. Antora is also developing thermophotovoltaic (TPV) heat-to-power conversion for future products.
