About Arinna Flexible 2D-semiconductor Space Solar Panel
Arinna is developing ultra-thin, flexible photovoltaics made from transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), 2D semiconductors deposited by solution coating. The company claims 10x higher power-per-mass than legacy options, a lifetime over 15 years without cover glass, and weeks-long lead times. Qualification panels were planned for an International Space Station test in late 2026, with megawatt-scale production targeted for 2028. NSF, NASA and Air Force SBIR-type awards fund the work.
