About Plasma Excavation System (PES)
EarthGrid's Plasma Excavation System uses plasma torches to break up hard rock by thermal shock for trenching and excavation, with no explosives, mechanical cutters or drilling chemicals. It was demonstrated in Sierra granite at Raymond, California in June 2025 and with Statnett in Klæbu, Norway in September 2025.
