About Hydroplane Modular Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powerplant
A modular PEM hydrogen fuel cell electric powerplant intended to replace piston engines in certified, experimental and future aircraft, and to serve as mobile and auxiliary power. The 200 kW (270 hp) aviation version is being integrated on Hydroplane's Protium demonstrator; an Army SBIR-funded vertical-lift variant reached full rotor flight speed on a 23-foot rotor test stand in 2025, and a 300 kW-class helicopter system is in Phase II development.
