About Longshot Kinetic Launcher
A ground-based, multi-injection light-gas accelerator ("space gun") that injects gas along the barrel to spread acceleration. The prototype has fired more than 100 times and reached above Mach 4 on inert gases; hydrogen-fueled tests targeting Mach 5 with payloads up to 2 kg are planned for fall 2026, and a larger launcher for payloads up to 100 kg at Mach 5-7 is planned next. The first market is hypersonic flight testing for defense; orbital cargo launch is the long-term goal.
