DARPA/ONR Long Range Anti-Ship Missile Demonstration publicly announced
The Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) name first appeared publicly in an April 2008 federal business opportunities industry-day announcement for the joint DARPA/ONR Long Range Anti-Ship Missile Demonstration. DARPA then issued broad agency announcement DARPA-BAA-08-41 on 6 June 2008. Both precede the June 2009 Lockheed Martin contract award.
