About

The Chemical Security Analysis Center (CSAC) is a Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. It assesses chemical threats and vulnerabilities, maintains scientific information for the homeland-security community, and supports laboratory and field testing and risk analysis. Its Chemical Security Lab was established in partnership with the Army’s Chemical Biological Center to validate data and support preparedness. CSAC also provides technical assistance to government and first-responder organizations. Its location on an Army installation enables collaboration but does not make it an Army laboratory. The profile covers public chemical-security research and analytical services, not a commercial chemical-product line.
