Command-and-control software

Software that fuses sensor data and coordinates forces and effectors.

Assessment

Case for · why it matters

DoD leaders say the existing command-and-control architecture cannot meet the demands of a peer fight, and JADC2/CJADC2 aims to connect every service's sensors into one network so the best shooter can be matched to each target. Software such as Maven Smart System is already used by combatant commands to command and control operations, and the Army is rebuilding its C2 stack under NGC2.

Case against · the skeptic’s view

Requirements and costs are still not validated and interoperability across services and allies is unresolved, per CRS. Speed of delivery has brought security risk: an Army memo on the first NGC2 prototype said it could not control who sees what or verify the software was secure and rated it 'very high risk'.

Products4

AuraNet

Dominion Dynamics

Dominion's sensing, communications and data-fusion software platform with Arctic-hardened sensors; gives operators and command posts a common operating picture. Used by Canadian Rangers on a self-funded eight-week trial during Operation NANOOK-NUNALIVUT in 2026.

Limited fielding

Kela C2 platform

Kela

Open-architecture command-and-control system that fuses data from sensors, drones and other systems into a unified command interface; deployed at Israeli border outposts and selected for the Digital Bat attack-drone C2 program.

Limited fielding

Lattice

Anduril Industries

Anduril's software platform for sensor fusion and command and control; part of Thunderforge and the NGC2 prototype work.
