Our RF communication systems are made in Germany, deployed on active frontlines, and targeting a highly valued tactical communication market with zero sovereign alternatives today. As our first dedicated Field Application Engineer, you are the technical face of Hive at our customers. You support deals before they close, get our systems deployed and integrated in the field, and are the first point of contact when customers hit technical issues. Most importantly, you make sure our products are actually used. You also turn feedback and what you learn in the field into better future products. You report into our CTO organization. This role is customer-facing by design: you are based in Munich and travel to customer sites and field deployments as needed. Verantwortlichkeiten Customer Deployments & Technical Support Own deployments at customer sites: installation, integration into the customer’s environment, commissioning, and acceptance Be the first technical point of contact for our customers: triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on-site and remotely, escalating to engineering when needed Help set up our customer portal and deliver support through it: ticket intake, triage and priorities, status communication, and response targets Build the knowledge behind support: reproducible issue reports, known-issue documentation, and deployment runbooks Define internal field test setups for optimal customer experience and execute them with the team Work alongside the engineering team to merge technical viability and customer requests Adoption & Training Train operators and technical staff on our systems until they run them confidently without us Own the customer-facing documentation: user and integration guides, application notes, FAQs, and training material and keep it current with every release Make sure our products are actually used in the customer’s real workflow and find out why when they are not Run regular check-ins and deployment health reviews with active customers Pre/Post Sales Support Support sales with technical demonstrations, pilots, and proofs of concept Capture customer requirements and constraints, and answer feasibility questions during the deal Contribute the technical substance of proposals and pilot plans Support customers technically after the sale and be their first point of contact Field Feedback into Product Turn field findings into a structured feedback loop with engineering and product: what breaks, what confuses, what is missing Reproduce and qualify field issues so engineering works on the right problems Support the secure handling of sensitive and export-controlled information in everything that leaves or enters a customer site, in line with dual-use export control and end-user requirements Anforderungen You do not need to tick every box or master every topic from day one. If the core is there and you have the drive to grow into the rest, we want to hear from you. Must Have 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role: field application, solutions engineering, commissioning, or technical support Degree in engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical foundation Hands-on troubleshooting ability across hardware, software, and networks, in the field, without a lab behind you Excellent communication and stakeholder management: from the operator on the ground to the customer’s leadership and our engineering team Customer-first mindset: you measure success by whether the customer actually uses the product, not by tickets closed Willingness to travel to customer sites and work hands-on in real field conditions Willingness to undergo security vetting where customer-site access requires it Valid driver’s license Fluent English at least advanced German Based in Munich or willing to relocate Nice to Have Exposure to unmanned systems, robotics, RF communications, electronic warfare (EW) environments, or command-and-control systems Pre-sales experience technical demos, pilots, and proofs of concept alongside a commercial team Prior work in defense, aerospace, security, or another regulated environment Experience building a field application function from scratch rather than inheriting one Additional languages relevant to our customer base a plus Über uns Why Hive Real ownership from day one in a fast-scaling deep-tech company with products already in serial production and in the field. We develop industrial-grade hardware and software modules that connect heterogeneous unmanned systems into intelligent, collaborative swarms, powered by our proprietary C3 (Command, Control, Connect) architecture. Founded by aviation veterans with deep expertise in drone hardware, secure communications, and autonomous systems, we are building the backbone for global robotic collaboration, serving customers in defence, disaster response, critical infrastructure, and beyond. As our Team Assistant, you are the operational backbone of the Hive Robotics office in Munich, on a part-time (approx. 30h/week) or full-time basis. You keep things running smoothly so that our engineers and leadership can focus entirely on building world-class technology. You are organized, proactive, and at ease in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can shift quickly and no two days look the same. Over time, you will also take on sensitive operational responsibilities in HR administration and finance support, making trust and discretion central to this role. We expect regular on-site presence in our Munich office given the nature of these responsibilities. Responsibilities What You Will Do Manage our day-to-day office operations, including supplies, mail and facility Act as the first point of contact for visitors, guests, and external service providers, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and Operations on cross-functional topics as the team grows Support HR administration including preparation and management of employment contracts and coordination with our payroll provider Support scheduling and travel coordination for the team Assist with the planning and execution of internal team events and offsites Coordinate onboarding logistics for new team members (access, equipment, office setup) Support administrative tasks such as invoice processing and travel expense pre-accounting Oversee office assets including keys, access cards, and equipment tracking Identify and implement improvements to administrative processes and tools Requirements What You Bring Experience in team assistance, office management, or a comparable administrative role, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment Highly organized, structured, and reliable, with strong attention to detail Proactive mindset: you anticipate needs, take initiative, and follow through without being asked twice Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach Advanced English AND German language skills (B2 or higher in both) Comfortable with standard office tools (Google Workspace or MS Office) Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information About Us We work in deep-tech and dual-use technology, an industry where women and other underrepresented groups have historically had limited access. We encourage you to apply even if you don't check every box below. Why Hive Build sovereign technology that matters. We build RF communication and orchestration systems for unmanned platforms across air, land, sea, and space, at a moment when European technological sovereignty is a real strategic question, not an abstract one. Real ownership, real deployment. Our products are already in serial production and in the field. What you build ships, and you see the result. Small team, direct access. Around 30 people. You'll work directly with founders and not through multiple layers of management. You shape the foundations. We're still building the structures, career paths, controlling, compliance, that let a fast-growing company scale well. You'll help decide what they look like. Modern Munich office, with the tools and equipment to do your best work. What You Get Compensation. Our RF communication systems are Made in Germany, deployed on active frontlines, and targeting a highly valued tactical communication market with zero sovereign alternatives today. As our first dedicated Account Executive, you own the sales pipeline: every opportunity from a lead to a signed contract. You take over our existing customer accounts and drive the opportunities our founders and Business Development have opened, with the first new deals expected to close within 3 months. You currently report to the CEO. This role is customer-facing by design: expect 30–50% travel to customer sites, procurement offices, partners and trade fairs across Germany and Europe, sometimes internationally. The rest of the time you work alongside Engineering, Product Management and our Field Application Engineers. Responsibilities Own the funnel from the first qualified conversation to signature. Our founders and Business Development open doors with customers, partners and the wider ecosystem. From there the opportunity is yours: you qualify it, drive it and close it, pulling the founders back in only when a deal needs them. Leads you generate yourself count just as much, this isn't exclusively BD's territory. Qualify hard and early. Run discovery against a fixed gate (pain, budget, decision-making unit, timing) before we invest engineering time in a technical deep dive, and keep a clear next step with a date on every opportunity. Lead the customer's buying team through a hardware buying cycle: end users, engineers, procurement, legal and IT, across long evaluations, equipment trials run as projects, integration questions and security reviews. Orchestrate the deal team. Bring in our engineers and Field Application Engineers for demos, trials and technical deep dives, and Product Management for configuration and fit. You decide when a deal needs them and what they're there to do. Own our active customers commercially: account plans, follow-on orders, upsells and expansion into new units and use cases, every escalation that touches the relationship, and regular account reviews with the Field Application Engineer who owns adoption. Turn deployed systems into the next deal: reference visits, customer quotes and case material that you or the founders can use to open new accounts. Own the offer: configuration and pricing, terms and conditions, the cost-benefit case on the customer's own data, and the project plan to signature. Lead our responses to RFPs and tenders where they apply, and build the templates so every proposal starts from a proven base. Get a trial agreement signed before any trial starts: scope, duration, success criteria, pilot price and the path to the main contract. You drive it, Operations owns the paperwork. Close, and hand over cleanly. Request the contract from Operations, keep the customer and the internal side moving, and sign. Then hand over to Operations as a confirmed customer order and to the Field Application Engineer for onboarding. Keep the pipeline honest: stage discipline, forecast and CRM hygiene, and a weekly pipeline review you run for the founders Requirements Must Have 7+ years in B2B sales of technical products into complex, multi-stakeholder deals, ideally in a scale up company You have sold hardware, or hardware combined with software and firmware: physical systems with configurations, lead times, integration work and delivery commitments behind them Comfortable selling to technical and non-technical stakeholders in the same room, and knowing when to bring in the engineers Hands-on daily work in a CRM and a disciplined qualification method (e.g. MEDDPICC): your forecast is something the company can plan on Closer's mindset: you treat an opportunity without a next step and a date as a problem, not a pipeline entry Structured working style: your offers, decisions and customer commitments are written down so that Operations, the field team and the founders can act on them without asking Willingness to travel 30–50 % across Germany and Europe, occasionally beyond Europe Fluent English (German is a very big plus) Eligibility and willingness to undergo security vetting for access to some customer sites Nice to Have An existing network or experience selling to the DACH defense ecosystem: armed forces, procurement offices, primes, integrators Technical fluency in RF communication, embedded systems, unmanned systems, command-and-control or robotics Experience building a sales pipeline or sales function from scratch rather than inheriting one About Us We work in deep-tech and dual-use technology, an industry where women and other underrepresented groups have historically had limited access. Our RF communication systems are Made in Germany, deployed on active frontlines, and targeting a highly valued tactical communication market with zero sovereign alternatives today. As our first dedicated People Generalist, you own the people side of the company, from the first conversation with a candidate to an employee's last day. Recruiting and onboarding are where we need you most right now, so that is where your focus starts. Around that, you run HR administration and payroll preparation and help us build the structures, such as grades and career tracks, that let a growing team scale well. You report into Finance & Operations. The foundations are in place: Personio is live, onboarding and offboarding workflows and employment templates exist, payroll runs with an external partner, and a job architecture is drafted. What's missing is someone who owns all of it day to day and makes it better. The role is a generalist, with room to grow: depending on your strengths and interests, it can develop toward a People Lead role or a specialization such as Talent Acquisition or People Operations. Candidates, new joiners and colleagues meet you in our Munich office, so we expect you on-site. Responsibilities Recruiting & Hiring Own recruiting from open role to signed contract: align with hiring managers on the profile, write and publish job ads, source actively, screen candidates and run first-round interviews Organize interview loops and onsite days, and keep every candidate informed so that nobody waits a week without hearing from us Make hiring repeatable: structured interview guides, scorecards, clean pipeline data in Personio, and a weekly overview of every open role for the founders Steer external recruiters and job platforms where they add value Shape how Hive Robotics shows up as an employer: careers page, job ads, and our presence at universities and relevant events Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Own onboarding from signed contract to the end of probation: a clear plan for the first weeks, introductions, regular check-ins and probation reviews on time Run joiner / mover / leaver in Personio, which drives account provisioning together with our IT team: a new hire is ready on day one, a leaver is offboarded cleanly Be the first point of contact for people questions from the team People Operations & Payroll Prepare employment contracts and amendments (salary, role, working time), confirmations, references and terminations, based on our templates and with external counsel where needed Prepare monthly payroll inputs and be the counterpart for our external payroll and tax advisors: you don't run payroll yourself, you make sure what goes into it is right Administer benefits such as mobility allowances, and keep employee data, absences and documents in Personio complete and audit-ready Keep us compliant on the people side: employee data protection, working time recording, documentation duties, and the upcoming pay transparency requirements Make sure the steps our export control and security procedures require are part of every hiring process, including security vetting where customer projects call for it Talent Management & Structures Help roll out our job architecture: map roles to grades and tracks, maintain salary bands, and keep both consistent as we grow Prepare and run performance and compensation review cycles with leadership Build the people processes a growing company needs, and document them so they work without you in the room Requirements This is a broad role, and we know that. You do not need to have mastered every topic from day one. If you bring solid experience in recruiting and HR administration and the drive to grow into the rest, we want to hear from you. Must Have Around 3 to 5 years in HR or People roles, ideally as a generalist or in recruiting, in a startup or scale-up Hands-on experience running full-cycle recruiting yourself, including active sourcing, ideally also for technical roles Solid working knowledge of German employment law and HR administration: contracts and amendments, payroll inputs, social security, probation and notice periods Hands-on experience with an HR system, Personio strongly preferred Candidate-first mindset: you treat a candidate waiting for feedback as a problem, not a backlog item Structured working style: you document what you build, so processes keep running when you're not in the room Discretion and sound judgment with confidential information about people and pay Fluent German and English: contracts and payroll run in German, the team works in English Based in Munich or willing to relocate Nice to Have Experience in deep tech, hardware, defence, aerospace or another regulated environment Experience hiring engineers (hardware, embedded, RF or software) Exposure to grading, job architecture or compensation frameworks Experience with international hiring or teams employed in more than one country Experience building a People function from scratch rather than inheriting one About Us We work in deep-tech and dual-use technology, an industry where women and other underrepresented groups have historically had limited access.
