About Oshkosh Defense

Oshkosh Defense's offering spans light through heavy vehicle platforms, with lifecycle support and technologies intended to improve mobility, payload, protection and interoperability. The defense business draws on the wider corporation’s manufacturing, engineering and supply-chain capabilities, but groupwide factory counts and commercial revenues are not defense-only figures. Oshkosh’s role combines original vehicle production with fleet sustainment and modernization. Product families and contract generations need to be tracked separately: a vehicle remaining in military service does not necessarily mean the original manufacturer still holds the newest production award. Relevant careers include manufacturing, vehicle engineering, quality and field support.

Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2

Oshkosh Defense medium tactical truck family with cargo, recovery, logistics, and support configurations. The Army documented delivery of M1083A2 and M1078A2 vehicles to its Transportation School in May 2025 for master-driver training. Its acquisition portfolio identifies Oshkosh as the prime contractor and records production and full-materiel-release milestones; individual configurations have distinct test and delivery schedules.
