What the maintenance figure covers

The Navy O&M exhibit identifies $7.275M for a selected incremental availability for USS Blue Ridge. This narrow event scope excludes the class’s full crewing, operations and long-term support bill.

Remaining service-life planning

The May 2026 shipbuilding plan schedules USS Mount Whitney for future retirement. A proposed future decommissioning is not treated as an already-completed reduction in fleet inventory.

Open research: Figures retain the date and scope of the original source. A historical count, cumulative delivery or procurement plan is not today’s mission-capable inventory. A source with a defensible unit scope and dollar basis has not been verified. A separately identified lifetime development total has not been verified. This is not a zero-cost estimate.
