HQ United States
The Material Measurement Laboratory (MML) is NIST’s reference laboratory for measurements in chemical, biological and material sciences.
About NIST Material Measurement Laboratory
NIST Material Measurement Laboratory's activities span fundamental and applied research, evaluated scientific data, certified reference materials and tools that improve the quality of measurements. It coordinates NIST-wide Standard Reference Material and Standard Reference Data programs. These resources support industry, academia and government, including advanced manufacturing and materials research relevant to the defense industrial base. MML is an internal federal laboratory rather than an independent contractor. Its portfolio consists of measurement capabilities, scientific resources and research programs; individual user facilities and employer-specific jobs should be identified separately.
