AJAX Family of Vehicles

Tracked British Army reconnaissance, command, recovery, engineering and armored personnel carrier variants in General Dynamics Land Systems’ AJAX family. The official family names AJAX, ARES, ATHENA, APOLLO, ATLAS and ARGUS; the manufacturer reports a British Army order for 589 vehicles across six variants. The UK paused its initial-operating-capability declaration in January 2026. In a 14 July 2026 update, the government reported resumed vehicle acceptance and restarted trials; this record does not treat that update as full operational fielding.
